The International Esports Federation (IESF) Panam Open has come to a close in Buenos Aires, Argentina after three exciting days of competition.
Argentina, Peru, Brazil and Mexico have made it to the podiums and will qualify for the 14th Final of the Esports World Championships in Bali, Indonesia in December. The event brought together 10 IESF member federations from the Pan American region to compete for a total prize pool of $250,000.
The inaugural Panam Open featured six game titles, including CS:GO, Dota 2, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, eFootball™️ and Tekken 7. Online preliminary qualifiers were held to determine the champions of four zones, America North, North America Latin America, Latin America South and Brazil who then faced off at the Centro Costa Salguero in Buenos Aires, as part of the Argentina Game Show 2022, which welcomed more than 100,000 participants in three days. The 8th edition of the game show is the biggest gamer event ever held in Argentina, with the aim of celebrating video games.
IESF President Vlad Marinescu said, “The inaugural Panam Open was an incredible event that brought the Pan Am esports family together in Buenos Aires. The IESF is proud to grow esports in the region and provide competitive opportunities for athletes to show their full potential on the world stage.
