BetVictor obtains a license in Ontario – Online Casino

BetVictor has become the latest online gambling operator to be licensed in the Canadian province of Ontario.

Awarded to BV Gaming, the parent company of BetVictor, the license will allow the operator to offer online sports betting and casino games to consumers.

The license was issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and is valid from June 3, 2022 to June 2, 2023.

BetVictor will join a series of other operators to go live in Ontario, following the launch of the province’s regulated online market on April 4 this year.

Unibet, theScore, BetRivers, 888, PointsBet, LeoVegas, Bwin, Bet365, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars all got licenses before launch day, while other brands such as DraftKings and Betway also got approval after the opening of the market.

Specialty licenses have also been awarded to a number of content providers and vendors such as Playtech.

The Ontario market opened after nearly three years of groundwork, after the provincial government revealed plans to end the lottery’s online gambling monopoly in April 2019.

The final standards for online betting and gaming were released last September, with online gaming standards including a number of limitations related to game design, such as prohibiting autoplay.
