Boom prepares to enter the real money online casino space
Dream time / Welcome
Golden Nugget Online Game (GNOG) and Rush Street Interactive (RSI) – known for his BetRivers app – will be among the Online casino operators to receive the first real money iGaming titles that Boom Entertainment creates.
CEO of Boom Steve murphy Recount Online poker report yesterday about some of his company’s real money online gaming product development plans. These plans will be fueled by its recent investors, including GNOG and RSI themselves. Boom announced another $ 15 million round of financing this week, through Capital of the Sands.
Murphy said RPO:
“Boom plans to launch up to 20 casino games by the end of the first quarter of 2022.”
This latest Boom round of funding is what will see Boom enter the US real-money online sportsbook and casino game creation space, according to Boom’s press release. The funding will also allow Boom to acquire talent and intellectual property.
At present, 3 million users of Boom products identify the company with NBC Sports Predictor, Tim Hortons NHL Hockey Challenge, PlayBarstool, NASCAR Jackpot Races, MSGN Pick’em, YES Pick N ‘Play and Twitter golf.
Boom Entertainment creates an online casino, then sports titles
Perhaps because online casino players generate more income than online sports bettors, Boom will work on its iGaming product line first. The fact that Boom has already made deals with GNOG and RSI to deliver the games may also be a priority.
Yesterday’s Boom ad read:
“The company will unveil its first wave of casino games to selected partners in the coming months, and will launch its exclusive sports betting games and product offerings to partners shortly thereafter.”
This goes against the way legal online betting is developing in the United States. There are 22 jurisdictions with legal online sports betting, but only four states have a competitive online casino market. Connecticut is about to throw one to make five, while Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia currently offer iGaming. (Delaware also has online casinos, but operated as a monopoly by the lottery in partnership with 888 tracks).
Boom Entertainment takes online casino seriously
Based on Boom’s leadership and product team alone, iGaming’s reverence is evident.
Prior to co-founding Boom in 2015, Murphy was Vice President of Business Development at High 5 Games. This company is practically synonymous with free online slots.
President of Boom and CTO Med Nadooshan was COO and CTO of High 5.
In the August 26 Boom press release title Boom Entertainment Strengthens Real Money Gaming Division With New Creative Vice President, Boom announced the hiring Joseph Masci. He “was most recently Senior Creative Director at Aristocrat. He was previously Creative Director of Gimmie Games, which Aristocrat acquired in 2018, and founding Creative Director of High 5 Games.
This Boom announcement ends:
“Sir. Masci joins a team of real money veterans, including VP of Product Thom Ang, General Manager of Casino Content Deanna Ishikawa and General Manager of Sports Betting Products Chris Fargis.
