Ghaziabad soon to open online slots for child immunization and injection camps in schools
The Ghaziabad health department has opened online slot booking for vaccination of children aged 15 to 18, which will start from Jan. 3, officials said on Saturday.
Officials said they planned to administer vaccines to children at 40 vaccination centers, and they also identified 60 schools where more vaccination camps will be set up.
On Saturday, online slots were made available to children at 16 vaccination centres, and there is also walk-in access for them if they present their school ID or Aadhaar card, in addition other valid documents.
“We have asked permission from schools so that vaccination administration teams can visit and provide doses of Covaxin to children. We have identified almost 60 schools so far, and consent for the camps should be received from others in the coming days,” said Dr GP Mathuria, Nodal Officer for Covid Vaccination.
In December 2021, the government of Uttar Pradesh issued guidelines for the vaccination of children aged 15 to 18 from January 3 this year, as well as for the elderly, healthcare workers and workers. frontline workers who will receive the third dose of the Covid vaccine from January 10. The government has also set targets for the vaccination of beneficiaries in different groups.

As of now, officials familiar with the development said they have nearly 50,000 doses of Covaxin in stock and more will be procured ahead of the vaccination process scheduled to start Jan. 3.
According to state guidelines, children will only receive Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin as it is the only vaccine with an Emergency Use List (EUL) for the 15-18 age group and recommended. by the “Covid -19 working group” of the national technical council. Immunization Group.
